FSU football: Jaheim Bell puts Florida Gators on notice
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football fans are riding high after defeating the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators in the same season for the first time since 2016.
FSU is already betting favorites over both programs in 2023, and it’s not sitting well with one Florida Gator who spoke about his feelings regarding FSU.
Florida offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun said, “I can tell you who I’m most excited to play… FSU, I don’t like those guys at all. I’m excited to go get after them for sure.”
So let me get this straight. A Florida player is at SEC Media Day but is already thinking bout FSU.
I remember a certain Miami player said something similar last year, and we see how that worked out for Miami last year with a 45-3 beatdown.
One FSU player who hasn’t been in Tallahassee long at all didn’t let the comment slide and took to his Twitter account to put Florida on notice. The player was South Carolina transfer tight end Jaheim Bell:
Bell has experience playing against the Florida Gators over the past two seasons while at South Carolina. The Gamecocks defeated the Gators, 40-17 in 2021, with Bell catching a touchdown pass. The Gators defeated the Gamecocks in 2022 by a score of 38-6.
I suppose Bell’s first year in Tallahassee will help break his tie-breaker against the Gators. Bell was one of the most sought-after players in the transfer portal and looks to become a big part of one of the most explosive offenses in the nation.
Part of the reason Bell responded could be he feels he has something to prove against the Gators, who didn’t do much in South Carolina’s low offensive output.
The FSU/UF rivalry has always been one of the better ones in college football. It looks like the 2023 game will already have some extra sauce with it.
