FSU football: Top 15 important defensive players for 2023 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Greedy Vance
Louisville transfer defensive back Greedy Vance is a classic case of a guy getting better as they gain more experience in a defensive system.
Vance evolved into the best option at the nickel position as Kevin Knowles dealt with injuries, providing Vance with more opportunities to play.
Vance found himself in a position to make plays early in the season but failed to make them.
The botched interception against Wake Forest comes to mind, but then we saw Vance get moved in the Florida game to take on their best receiver and shut him down after he scored a few times early in the game.
Vance led the team with three interceptions and will be key in the nickel position in 2023 as teams will likely look to use the quick passing game as an extension of their run game that will find limited success.
