Kentron Poitier

Kentron Poitier’s role on the offensive probably took a hit when the Noles added Michigan State transfer Keon Coleman from the transfer portal.

However, Poitier was thought to be a player that would take the next step after a strong finish to the 2022 season. If you’ve been a follower of my work, you know how I’ve written about high school wide receivers transitioning to college ball.

Poitier didn’t start taking football serious until about halfway through high school because he played basketball, not to mention his freshman year was hindered by the pandemic.

However, the 2023 season will be his fourth season in Mike Norvell’s offense, and we’ve seen continued progression each season.

I don’t expect this combo often, and I’m not sure what receiver combinations Mike Norvell will use, but a trio of Wilson, Coleman, and Poitier would give FSU three receivers at 6’3″ and up on the field at once.

That’s a recipe for success, as Mike Norvell wants to get his best players on the defenses’ lesser players. Poitier could be a viable target in the event Wilson or Coleman are not in the game.
