Maurice Smith

I like to call Maurice Smith “Old Faithful” because no matter how many times folks count him out, he always shows up when the rubber hits the road.

FSU brought competition from the portal before last season to push Smith, and he fought to keep his position at center.

The major drawback to Smith was his inability to anchor, but an increase in strength and added weight helped negate that problem in 2022.

Trending. Overall Thoughts 2024 State of Recruiting. light

FSU brought in more competition with Casey Roddick, but it looks like Smith could hold onto the position again.

He’s FSU’s best snapper(I know that’s crazy important right), and he knows FSU’s offense inside and out as the starting center the past two seasons.

He’s another guy like Robert Scott that got thrust into action too early because FSU coaches had no other options. However, all that experience should pay dividends for the Noles in 2023.
