Final Thoughts

If you’re an FSU football fan worried about recruiting, don’t be. This staff has a plan. I can recall being worried about defensive tackle recruiting a couple of years ago, and obviously, when FSU failed to sign a single receiver in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Now, both position groups are among the best in the ACC heading into the 2023 season. The staff uses a forumula of transfer portal, high school players, and development to get the job done. If you’re someone that hasn’t come to grips with how the transfer portal has impacted high school recruiting, do yourself a favor and learn to look at recruiting differently.

Also, don’t worry so much about the ranking, but more so if the team is fulfilling roster needs. Of course, everyone wants to sign all five-star players, but it’s all about trusting the staff evaluations and finding the right fit.

Just because the ranking services have a player listed as a five-star doesn’t mean the staff views him the same. Conversely, because ranking services view a player as a three-star doesn’t mean the staff view him the same.

I’d trust the staff that gets paid six figures each and knows the ins and outs of roster needs more than guys that recruiting sites, but that’s just me.
