Selective Offensive Linemen

I’m not overly concerned with offensive line recruiting because Alex Atkins has proven himself enough over the past three years.

FSU is likely in a good spot to land four-star Jonathan Daniels and three-star Tye Hylton. That likely means they’ll only push for 1-2 more offensive linemen from the high school ranks.

Alex Atkins will likely continue to pursue four-star Jason Zandmela, who committed to USC in early June. Zandamela plays high school football in Florida, was a high school teammate with current FSU offensive lineman Lucas Simmons, and is a very talented player.

FSU doesn’t need to take a huge offensive line class and can afford to be selective because of the work they did in the 2022 recruiting cycle. That haul of guys should be ready to play a ton of snaps by 2024.

This 2023 recruiting class has been relatively weak, so it’s important not to reach on guys with a low chance of developing into someone that can play meaningful snaps in the future. Otherwise, they can go to the portal for a guy that’s at least physically ready to play.
