Final Thoughts

I know some people don’t want to believe it, but FSU had a better scoring defense than Clemson(while playing a better offensive slate) with less talent.

They had better-scoring defenses than Texas A&M, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and many other schools with multiple NFL Draft selections.

The Noles had one NFL Draft selection, All-ACC safety Jammie Robinson. However, that won’t be the case once the book is closed on the 2023 season.

There are several players on this year’s defense that will ultimately play in the NFL. Players like Fabien Lovett, Jared Verse, Fentrell Cypress, Renardo Green, Patrick Payton, and others will likely sign as UDFA’s.

If the FSU’s defense was that good last year with less talent(and injuries to a couple of starters), I think it’s fair to say this year’s defense should be one of the top defenses in the nation. They have the talent, depth and will play a ton of offenses they can feast on.
