Va Tech

  • 51.35 percent Red Zone TD percentage allowed
  • No. 72 FEI

The Noles will face a familiar foe when Virginia Tech comes to Tallahassee. Former linebackers coach Chris Marve left FSU to become the new defensive coordinator at Virginia Tech after the 2021 season.

He played for Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry while at Vanderbilt. Some might question is Marve is the real DC, but Virginia Tech doesn’t have the talent they had in their heyday when Bud Foster roamed the sidelines with Frank Beamer. When Marve left FSU, folks were not exactly crying with sadness.

They didn’t have much of a pass rush(23 sacks, 38 QB hurries), and allowed nearly four yards per rush in 2022. They only forced nine turnovers all season, and lost their best defensive end and linebacker. FSU should have no problems scoring here.
