Pitching

Makenna Reid will enter her sophomore season as the unquestioned ace after an outstanding freshman season in 2023. Coach Lonni Alameda brought her along carefully, but Reid exemplified poise in several outings with outstanding numbers.

Reid must continue to develop, and if she can add a consistent change up or something else offspeed? She has the potential to be another all-time great. Allison Royalty can return in 2024 after a decent 2023 campaign.

She has experience but has to become more consistent in the strike zone. Freshman Madi Balk will return after appearing in eight games and pitching eight innings in 2023. She had more walks than strikeouts, so she has lots to develop.

Emma Wilson can return after appearing in eight games and pitching 6.1 innings. Reid pitched 79.1 innings in 2023, which is the most of everyone that can return next year.

FSU will need to hit the portal once again, but it has to be someone that has experience, and can eat up innings. Hopefully, Madi Balk can take a huge step forward in her development in the offseason.
