3. Center

It has been well-documented that the Seminoles have searched for backup options at the center position to put behind redshirt junior Maurice Smith.

However, it seems that the experiment is a work in progress. Redshirt senior Casey Roddick, redshirt junior Darius Washington, redshirt junior Thomas Shrader, redshirt junior walk-on David Stickle, redshirt sophomore Bryson Estes, and redshirt freshman Qae’shon Sapp have all taken reps at the position in a practice setting.

FSU will try to acquire viable center options in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The top option has to be four-star Jason Zandamela from Clearwater International Academy in Clearwater, Florida (former high school teammate with current Florida State offensive lineman Lucas Simmons).

He was the starting center for Clearwater International Academy last season, and he has an official visit scheduled to the Seminoles on June 23rd. Zandamela’s decision date is July 6th between schools such as Oklahoma, Miami, USC, Georgia, and Florida State.

The talented offensive lineman has three crystal ball predictions for the Seminoles.

Could the coaching staff add more prospects to their recruiting board or acquire younger productive options in the transfer portal for life after Maurice Smith?
