I said Syracuse was fraudulent much earlier than everyone else last year. They took advantage of playing some poor teams earlier in the year, but that and injuries exposed their lack of depth when they played the big boys like Clemson, FSU, Notre Dame, and others.
While they sustained an injury to their starting QB, Garrett Shrader, the offense was mostly running the ball with Sean Tucker, or short passing in the flats to Tucker. When they didn’t do that, it was trying to get the ball to their top receiver Oronde Gadsden II.
Sharader improved as a passer, but he’ll have a new offensive coordinator in Jason Beck(internal promotion). Sean Tucker signed as a UDFA with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Syracuse lost is second best receiver in Devaugh Cooper, but returns Gadsden.
I’m not sure what Syracuse has on the offensive line, but they were not anything special last year, allowing 85 tackles for a loss.
