Va Tech

  • 19.3 PPG
  • 4.71 YPP
  • 31.4 percent third down conversion
  • 64.2 pecent Red Zone TD percentage
  • No. 106 FEI

Va Tech brings experience at the QB position and added competition at the spot with Baylor transfer Byron Drones, though Jones only appeared in three games as a freshman last season. Their best receiver transferred to Notre Dame, but they added three receivers from the transfer portal.

The offensive line remains questionable, as they lost their left tackle and center. Va Tech lost their leading rusher to Western Michigan, but return an experienced running back in Malachi Thomas, who only played in three games last year due to injury. Thomas had 440 rushing yards (4.73 ypc) and three touchdowns as a freshman in 2021.

They have lots of question marks, but were efficient once they got into the red zone last year.
