Jeff Hafley’s offense was dreadful last year, and that was with an experienced QB in Phil Jurkovec and an NFL-caliber wide receiver in Zay Flowers. The offense line was dreadful. However, most of those guys return from a year ago.

They also got some help from the transfer portal. Their top running back, Pat Garwo, returns, but the biggest issue will be at quarterback. They return Emmett Morehead, who’s a less athletic Phil Jurkovec, and added a transfer receiver from UCF that was productive.

However, if Jurkovec and Flowers couldn’t do much, I don’t suspect these two guys will be light years better, even if the offensive line improves somewhat. They don’t have anywhere to go but up, and FSU plays them in the third game. They’ll be trying to figure things out offensively at that point.
