Miami

Record (5-7)

FEI offense ranking- No. 91

FEI defense ranking- No. 63

FEI overall ranking- No. 90

Miami is always the king of the offseason claiming the upcoming year is the one when they’re back. The 2022 season was no different, and Miami only managed to win five games against a schedule softer than cotton candy.

There were red flags in wins against Bethune-Cookman and Southern Mississippi to open the season. However, losses to Texas A&M and a blowout loss at home against Middle Tennessee State exposed them for the frauds they were. Duke, FSU, Clemson, and Pittsburgh blew the doors off Mario Cristobal in his first year. I know they’ll probably want to blame it on TVD getting hurt, but they were not good with him when he was healthy, either.

They have a new offensive coordinator and a bunch of other new coaches since the greatest coaching staff of all time proved otherwise, just like FSU fans told them all off-season. Miami brought in a talented freshman class, but relying on freshmen to turn the program around is a disaster waiting to happen.

The reports are TVD is picking up the new offense fine, but the questions are who will block up front, and who’s going to catch the ball? Also, Miami’s defense has a new unproven defensive coordinator. Good luck with all that.
