Georgia Tech

Record (5-7)

FEI offense ranking- No. 109

FEI defense ranking- No. 40

FEI overall ranking- No. 92

Georgia Tech had a murder’s row schedule at the beginning of 2022, and head coach Geoff Collins got fired after a 1-3 start.

Ironically, GT assistant head coach Brent Key took over and promptly defeated a No. 22 ranked Pittsburgh on the road and defeated an upstart Duke program the following week.

However, starting QB Jeff Sims got hurt against Virginia and Georgia Tech lost that game and got destroyed by FSU the following week.

The Yellow Jackets found ways to beat Virginia Tech and North Carolina for Key to finish 4-4 as a head coach.

The only problem is they lost Jeff Sims to the transfer portal, and the young quarterbacks behind him looked absolutely lost. If they can find some offensive production to go with their solid defense from last year? Key might turn them into a respectable program.
