Dave Doeren-NC State

Dave Doeren brings a 95-58 career record into the 2023 season. He’s 72-54 in the ACC and 38-44 in the tougher ACC Atlantic Division.

Doeren got off to a rough start in his first season at NC State. He took over a team that had gone 7-6 the year before he got there and promptly went 3-9 in his first season.

However, he’s only had one losing season since and has won eight or more games in six seasons in Raleigh. Doeren has installed a model of consistency at a program that’s not in a recruiting hotbed and doesn’t routinely garner high-ranked recruiting classes.

If not for Dabo Swinney at Clemson, NC State would likely have a couple of ACC Championships under their belt in the last few seasons with FSU going through their struggles.

The only problem for Doeren is those days are probably ending sooner than later, with FSU football getting traction with elite players again.
