Mike Norvell-Florida State

Mike Norvell brings an overall 56-31 career record into the 2023 season. Norvell took over a solid Memphis program that was put on the right trajectory by the previous coach and took them to unprecedented heights before leaving for FSU football.

Norvell was 38-15 at Memphis and 24-8 in conference play. He took over the worst FSU football program in our lifetime and endured a pandemic in his first year that prevented real progress. Norvell’s record at FSU is 18-16, but the turnaround has been swift.

The Noles are 15-6 since starting the 2021 season 0-4, and FSU will likely begin the 2023 season ranked inside the top 10. While, the losses piled up early. A lack of talent at key positions (QB and OL) and pandemic effects prevent a quicker turnaround.

Norvell’s reputation as an offensive mind precedes him, and he’s quickly turned FSU’s offense into one of the best in the nation.

The question about Norvell was his recruiting prowess, but that’s one narrative non-believers can’t use anymore with how he’s flipped FSU’s roster into one of the most talented in the ACC.
