Mario Cristobal-Miami

Mario Cristobal is 67-67 overall and went 5-7 in his first year at Miami in the ACC last year.

Cristobal’s mostly known as a great recruiter, but I’ve been on record that I believe that’s more to do with where he got that reputation than his actual prowess.

When you coach at Alabama with Nick Saban, it’s not that hard to recruit. He’s had some success on the trails, but I wouldn’t call him an ace, which is evident of where Miami’s 2024 recruiting class is right now.

Cristobal’s overall record is propped up because of his time as head coach at Oregon, where he inherited a first-round NFL Draft Pick in Justin Herbert.

He went 35-13 in a watered-down Pac-12, but his overall record without Oregon is 32-54.

Cristobal inherited a talented QB when he took the Miami job and a decent roster that failed to make a bowl game in year one while playing in the weaker ACC Coastal Division.
