Michigan State junior wide receiver transfer Keon Coleman just concluded his official visit with Florida State this morning.

Coleman seemed to have a fantastic visit as he was posting pictures and videos of himself in the popular all-white uniform combination, which typically symbolizes that the Seminoles are trending in a positive direction.

Florida State was Coleman’s only visit scheduled since he entered the transfer portal. However, the talented playmaker announced via his Twitter account that he will visit the Ole Miss Rebels tomorrow (5/9/2023).

While this is not RebelChat, it is worth mentioning that Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin had two wide receivers in Malik Heath (971 yards and five touchdowns) and Jonathan Mingo (861 yards and five touchdowns), who had productive statistical seasons last year.

Unfortunately, the Rebels will have to replace both playmakers as Heath is now with the Green Bay Packers and Mingo is now with the Carolina Panthers, respectively. The top returning receiver for Ole Miss is Jordan Watkins, who had 40 receptions for 449 yards and two touchdowns.

This aspect could mean more significant playing time for Coleman in an offensive system that can be very dynamic in the SEC, which produces a high amount of NFL talent.
Should FSU be worried about Coleman taking a visit to the Rebels? Personally, it shouldn’t be worrisome at the moment, considering that the Seminoles were his first visit after entering the portal. He was was around running backs coach David Johnson, who has several Louisiana ties (the transfer wide receiver is originally from Opelousas, Louisiana).

FSU Insider Patrick Burnham from The Osceola captured the moment with the following tweet of Coleman arriving to Florida State for his visit accompanied by David Johnson, where they were walking to the Moore Center.

The Seminoles might not seem like they need a wide receiver with the likes of big-bodied Johnny Wilson and Kentron Poitier as well as electric Winston Wright Jr. returning from his injury that he suffered a season ago. However, it cannot go unnoticed that the Seminoles will have to replace the likes of their second-leading receiver Ontaria Wilson (495 yards and four touchdowns) and their third-leading receiver Mycah Pittman (330 yards and three touchdowns) from last year. Johnny Wilson has potential to have his named called in the first two rounds of next years draft and Jordan Travis is a legit Heisman candidate. I still like our chances!
