FSU football: 4-star WR James Madison II making his decision on July 4th
FSU football 2024 four-star wide receiver target James Madison II from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced via his Twitter account that he will be making his decision on July 4th.
The talented receiver prospect released his top five schools list on April 14th, which included the following schools: Florida State, Louisville, Missouri, Oregon, and Michigan.
Madison II was a pivotal piece in helping powerhouse St. Aquinas High School win yet another state championship this past season.
During the 2022 season, he recorded 19 receptions for 407 yards and six touchdowns.
In terms of skill set, Madison II excels in high-pointing the football where opposing defenders have a difficult time containing his 6’3″, 190-pound frame.
The Seminoles have four receivers committed in their 2024 recruiting class, with four-stars Camdon Frier, Tawaski Abrams, BJ Gibson, and Lawayne McCoy.
However, that has not stopped the St. Thomas Aquinas High School standout from visiting Florida State as he has visited twice in the spring for their Junior Day event on March 10th and the Spring Showcase on April 15th.
It is noteworthy that Madison II has not visited any other school during the spring.
The coaching staff has an opportunity to wow the highly-touted prospect as he is scheduled to officially visit the Seminoles on June 23rd.
Florida State does not have a wide receiver prospect committed to their recruiting class that is above 6’0″. Madison II could be the wide receiver they are looking for on the outside with his 6’3″ frame.
If Florida State wide receiver coach Ron Dugans finds a way to obtain the commitment of the talented four-star playmaker, it would be the ninth recruiting prospect that the Seminoles have gotten on the recruiting trail in the last two cycles. That would be the definition of “Built for Playmakers!”
