FSU football: Jordan Travis from transfer to Heisman Watch
By Jason Zang
Parting Thoughts
2022 was a turning point year for both Mike Norvell and Jordan Travis as the team went 10-3. Jordan took a huge step forward with his development. The team with arguably its most talented roster since 2013 didn’t hurt. Jordan turned into a true dual-threat quarterback as his throwing improved, especially his deep ball. He started to see the game more clearly and became the field general for that offense. He became a QB that looked to throw first while only running when he needed to, which was a huge departure from his first season at FSU.
Heisman Outlook
FSU football has not had this much talent on the team since I can remember, including in 2013. There are so many playmakers on this offense with players like WR Johnny Wilson, TE Jahiem Bell, RB Trey Benson, and the emergence of WR Kentron Portier, plus many more. \
The offensive line should be the best it’s been in a decade, and Mike Norvell has surrounded Jordan with the weapons he needs to put up career numbers and lead this team to a possible playoff appearance.
This is definitely a season that will push Travis to a possible Heisman finalist appearance and bump his draft stock. That’s something most thought would be impossible just a couple of years ago. It will be a very exciting season for Nole Nation!
