FSU softball (43-8, 19-2 ACC) trailed by four runs after five innings in game one and rallied to win the game 5-4 in eight innings.

It was like Notre Dame was a little kitty Kat who woke a raging lion over the next 10 innings. FSU run-ruled the Fighting Irish 11-2 in game two and then fired a one-hit 12-0 shutout to close out the series sweep.

The FSU bats were fairly silent over the first five innings in the series but woke to score 28 runs in the final 13 innings.

Michaela Edenfield had two home runs and seven RBI in the series. She now has 10 home runs and 46 RBI, with a batting average over .240 after hovering around .200 for quite some time. She drove the ball up the middle and to the opposite field, which usually means good things at the plate.

Kaley Mudge went 4-7 with two RBI. Jahni Kerr went 5-12, and Kalei Harding went 4-9 with a home run and three RBI. Hallie Wacaser had a coming-out party, going 6-8 with two home runs and six RBI.

The FSU offense pounded 32 hits, including seven doubles and five home runs. Kathryn Sandercock and Makenna Reid handled most of the pitching duties in the series, splitting innings in games one and three.

They combined for 13 innings, allowing six hits, seven strikeouts, and ZERO walks. FSU pitchers only allowed one walk in the entire series.

Ali DuBois and Allison Royalty split duties in game two. Royalty pitched two innings without walking a batter or allowing a hit. Aside from the slow start in game one and committing three errors in the series, it was about as dominant as a team could be.

Most of all, this team seems to be playing with a lot of energy and having a lot of fun on the field. They will take on Florida in their next matchup Wednesday night to see if they can make if five straight wins over the Gators.
