FSU NIL

We already know FSU has one of the top NIL programs nationally, which is one of the reasons the Noles have retained the majority of their top players.

The few FSU players that have entered the portal have been reserve players (like Farmer). Derrick McLendon started last year but transferred to Colorado, which tells me all I need to know about that situation. Omarion Cooper entered the portal shortly after Farmer indicated he would return.

This Farmer situation isn’t one where FSU couldn’t afford to pay Farmer what he wanted.

It’s much more delicate than that. Think about it, a player that’s not going to start, negotiating several times.

They didn’t want to lose Farmer, but at the same time, it’s a situation where you can’t overpay someone and upset the market. Plus, how would that affect the team culture if they allow a player to have that much leverage?

If I had to guess based on Farmer’s statement about staying with FSU? He saw the big picture after the 2023 season, and understands he will likely have more leverage after this season when he moves up on the depth chart on a team that has a chance to play for a championship this year.
