How Much Should They Use The Transfer Portal?

I know some FSU football fans want the Noles to take another wide receiver in the transfer portal. However, one thing I’ve been consistent about is not wasting scholarships.

I’ve said it numerous times, but a wide receiver must go through spring camp if he’s going to be effective during the season.

Any wide receiver they brought in now wouldn’t have that option and likely wouldn’t have time to learn the offense well enough to use the scholarship. Some folks want the coaches to take a linebacker, but I’m not sure that’s the right move.

They have two guys that will start, and DJ Lundy looks improved, and Omar Graham Jr. looks like he’s making significant progress. Brendan Gant and Stephen Dix Jr. were not going to play significant snaps, and they’ll usually only play two linebackers at a time.

I wouldn’t mind taking another defensive end if they could find one. I know they will likely need to take a safety because there isn’t a lot of experience behind Brown, Dent, and Omarion Cooper.

Other than that, I don’t see much value at the other positions. However, what they decide to do will depend on availability and how they evaluate their roster needs.
