T-#3 Notre Dame (3 QBs Drafted)

  • 2021 Round 4 – Ian Book
  • 2017 Round 2 – Deshone Kizer
  • 2010 Round 2 – Jimmy Clausen

Analysis: No one on this list made an impact in the NFL. Jimmy Clausen had some hype but didn’t pan out.

Best of the Bunch: Ian Book

T-#3 Ohio State (3 QBs Drafted)

  • 2021 Round 1 – Justin Fields
  • 2019 Round 1 – Dwayne Haskins
  • 2016 Round 4 – Cardale Jones
  • 2011 Supp. Draft Round 3 – Terrelle Pryor (Does this make 4?)

Analysis: Justin Fields has not really hit his stride yet with the Bears as they lack talent around him, that could change this season and we could see a different player. Haskins and Jones were good college players who didn’t translate to the NFL. Haskins might have been able to stick with Pittsburgh if not for his unfortunate accident. The wild card here is Terrelle Pryor who played both Quarterback and Wide Receiver in the NFL so is that why he was left off the list?

Best of the Bunch: Justin Fields

T-#3 Oklahoma State (3 QBs Drafted)

  • 2018 Round 3 – Mason Rudolph
  • 2012 Round 1 – Brandon Weeden
  • 2010 Round 7 – Zac Robinson

Analysis: No quarterback on this list has had any success in the NFL although Mason Rudolph was hyped and probably just landed with the wrong team in Pittsburgh. If he had gone to another team that needed a starting quarterback he may have been decent.

Best of the Bunch: Mason Rudolph

T-#3 Texas A&M (3 QBs Drafted)

  • 2021 Round 3 – Kellen Mond
  • 2014 Round 1 – Johnny Manziel
  • 2012 Round 1 – Ryan Tannehill

Analysis: A wild list here as all the hype was around Manziel and it just didn’t work out with him. Kellen Mond is a great athlete but more of a backup quarterback. I do think Ryan Tannehill had a decent career in the NFL, though not great he was a serviceable quarterback.

Best of the Bunch: Ryan Tannehill

T-#3 USC (3 QBs Drafted)

  • 2018 Round 1 – Sam Darnold
  • 2016 Round 3 – Cody Kessler
  • 2013 Round 4 – Matt Barkley

Analysis: This time wasn’t the best of years for USC so the list shows that. No one on here jumps out at me as having success in the NFL. Barkley floated around to some teams and so has Darnold.

Best of the Bunch: Matt Barkley
