Hitting

I mentioned FSU softball needed the trio of Devyn Flaherty, Mack Leonard, and Michaela Edenfield to continue to build off of their performance against Georgia Tech last week.

Edenfield went 2-5 with a run scored and five RBI in game one, including a three-run home run. Mack Leonard went 1-2, and Flaherty went 0-4 with two strikeouts, which is uncharacteristic.

Game two saw Flaherty go 1-3 with a walk and a big RBI to give the Noles a 1-0 lead. Mack Leonard and Edenfield combined to go 1-6.

Game three saw Flaherty go 1-2, Leonard 0-2, and Edenfield 0-1 with a couple of walks in a pitcher’s duel. Although they didn’t scorch the ball the way they did all series against Georgia Tech, they still had their moments to contribute.

Jahni Kerr helped carry the load in game two with a 3-5 performance. Katie Dack and Amaya Ross had big RBI’s in game three.

As long as these three players play well, other players like Kalei Harding, Jahni Kerr, Katie Dack, and Kaley Mudge have often contributed when the offense is humming.
