2024 Defensive Commits

Pos Name Star Ranking (Rivals.com) Star Ranking (24/7 Sports)
S CJ Heard Jr ★★★☆☆ ★★★★☆
S Jordan Pride ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆
DT Keishawn Mashburn ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆
DE Jamorie Flagg ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆

S CJ Heard Jr

CJ is a pure tackler who possesses a nose for the football. He has shown great closing speed and can come off the edge. He is a great replacement for Jammie Robinson, as both are very similar in how they play. He looks to be more of that strong safety type who can cover ground and help with run support but has the speed to cover tight ends.

S Jordan Pride

Pride is another player like Heard who can tackle and has great closing speed. He may be more of a free safety type player with his long arms and jumping ability. Jordan excels at track and field too, and his athletic ability shows on the football field.

DT Keishawn Mashburn

Keishawn is an interesting prospect as he played running back in high school at 280 pounds. That’s impressive for a big man. On defense, he projects as a defensive tackle in my eyes, although some sites have him as a defensive end. He will get bigger and stronger in college and can be an Aaron Donald-type player with his athletic ability. Mashburn has the speed to chase down a ball carrier and is quick off the line. He will need to learn more moves as he tends to bull-rush his way into the backfield.

DE Jamorie Flagg

Jamorie is a strong-side defensive end player. He has strong hands and a quick burst off the line and gets into the backfield with ease sometimes. He also has the speed to chase down a player and is a good tackler. Flagg visited FSU this past weekend and is solid with the Noles. He’s also cousins with FSU defensive end, Patrick Payton
