Execution

The difference in FSU football going 10-3 and finishing 13-0 last season was mostly two things. It was a lack of depth at key positions and the inability to execute in key situations.

Think about all of the 3rd and short situations where the defense couldn’t stop the run against Wake Forest and Clemson.

Think of the blitz Adam Fuller called against Clemson, and the defensive back didn’t do his job and got beat for a touchdown. What about the times defensive backs were in a position to make an interception and failed to do it last year?

What about all of the third and short situations where the offense failed to get one or two yards needed for the first down?

When Mike Norvell speaks with the media, it’ll be important to listen to his tone and if he says there was a lack of execution or if the scrimmage was sloppy.

There isn’t an excuse for the lack of depth/talent in 2023. It’s going to be all about if Mike Norvell can get them to execute at a high level or not.
