Fentrell Cypress

Fentrell Cypress is a newcomer to the team via the transfer portal. However, he’s already a proven player, making All-ACC Second Team while playing at Virginia last season.

It’s why he was the No. 1 ranked cornerback in the transfer portal. Those accolades will earn respect off the rip from his teammates.

Cypress is a soft-spoken individual, and likely leads by example, but he exhibits some emotion on the field at times.

The early reports are he’s fitting in well with his teammates and seemed to ease through the Tour of Duty workouts, showing he got to FSU in shape and is ready to play.

He’s already making plays at practice, according to Mike Norvell. FSU coaches brought him to FSU to improve a weakness in the defense, with hopes he’ll improve on last year’s performance to become a shutdown corner.

The improved defensive line should make his job easier than what he experienced at Virginia last year.
