Shyheim Brown

It’ll be difficult to replace the leadership of Jammie Robinson, but one player that comes to mind with similar traits is Shyheim Brown.

Coincidentally, they both play the safety position and were underrated recruits playing with a chip on their shoulder. Brown saw quite the uptick in snaps as a redshirt freshman last season and should step into a starter’s role in 2023.

Although he wasn’t a starter, he made some big players last year in a limited time. The blocked extra point against LSU is a prime example.

Those facets, coupled with his work ethic and underdog mentality will give him the respect needed from his teammates to be a leader in 2023.

I’m not sure Brown will have the production Jammie Robinson had at the safety position because the defensive line will be much improved in 2023 compared to the last two years.

However, the coaching staff think the sky is the limit for Brown, and I expect him to be one of the better safeties in the conference.
