Quarterback Competition

No, I’m not talking about Tate Rodemaker or anyone challenging Jordan Travis. I’m talking about how much improvement can Tate Rodemaker make.

Not only that, but I’m interested in how much the addition of Brock Glenn will push AJ Duffy. Tate Rodemaker will be going into his fourth spring camp and should be finding another level of play.

AJ Duffy will be going into his second spring camp, but it’s hard to push yourself when you don’t have someone behind you on the depth chart or expect to play at all.

That won’t be the case in 2023, and competition forces players to improve or get passed up on the depth chart. This spring camp will not only impact the 2023 season, but it’ll impact the next couple of years with FSU quarterbacks.

FSU head coach Mike Norvell said something interesting a few days ago. He implied he’ll give guys other than Jordan Travis lots of reps with the starters since he knows what Jordan Travis can do.

That means we’ll really get to see what type of progress Rodemaker and Duffy have made. It’ll allow us to see how much Brock Glenn can handle as a freshman.

Spring camp will go a long way in developing the QB room depth.
