Transfer Portal Fits

FSU football coaches understand the importance of getting transfer players to enroll for the spring semester.

That’s why the majority had major impacts on the FSU program over the past two years. One player everyone thought would make an impact, Andrew Parchment, wasn’t an early enrollee, and I still believe that’s why he didn’t live up to expectations in the 2021 season.

The spring semester has allowed these transfer players to make strides in the weight room. Spring camp will allow them time to continue learning the playbook and building rapport with their teammates and coaches.

The repetitions they receive in these practices will be invaluable, as they can continue to hone in on what they learn throughout the summer player-led practices.

Coaches can learn their strengths and weaknesses, putting them in the best positions to find success.

Spring camp will start the process of determining how the coaches can rotate players to build depth without steep dropoffs in levels of play.

Most of these transfer players have big expectations of them, and spring camp will provide a glimpse into what’s possible.
