Returning Production

I’ve already touched on this, but I don’t think folks realize how much production is returning in 2023. Jordan Travis returning is a difference-maker by himself.

However, it’s crazy the amount of experience FSU will have in the trenches on both sides of the ball. FSU returns both starting linebackers and several players in its secondary who play major snaps in 2022.

The only key loss from the defense is All-ACC Jammie Robinson. FSU returns leading rusher Trey Benson and running back Lawrance Toafili. Not to mention, talented Rodney Hill and transfer Caziah Holmes will add to the mix.

FSU receivers return over 52 percent of their receptions from last season. Johnny Wilson, Mycah Pittman, and Kentron Poitier all had three or more touchdowns. That trio alone represents 89 receptions, 1,510 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

Camren McDonald departs, but FSU returns Markeston Douglas, who emerged last year with 14 receptions, 190 yards, and two touchdowns.

Other players like Darion Williamson, Ja’Khi Douglas, and Deuce Spann saw playing time in 2022 and could be factors in 2023. That’s not even counting the experience and production brought in from the transfer portal.
