FSU football: Why Noles are set up for long term success
By Kelvin Hunt
Overall Thoughts
There will be attrition at some skill positions on offense and attrition at linebacker after the 2023 season.
However, FSU has recruited well enough to avoid a precipitous decline after the 2023 season. The running back and wide receiver rooms have a ton of young talent that’ll have more experience in 2024.
It’s the same for the tight-end unit and secondary. The biggest issue for FSU before the 2021 season was poor quarterback play and a terrible offensive line.
The coaching was poor, and there was literally no depth at most impact positions. That’s not the case going forward under Mike Norvell.
The coaching staff is already off to a great start in the 2024 recruiting cycle with prep players, and they’ve proven they’re elite at transfer portal recruiting.
I’m not saying FSU football will be the favorite to compete for a College Football Playoff spot in the 2024 season.
There will likely be some regression because of the loss of Jordan Travis and some guys that will play in the NFL.
However, there should be enough stability and experience to keep FSU in the upper echelon in 2024 and competing for a conference championship in the coming years. Good QB play, and solid play in the trenches will win a ton of games.
