FSU football: Takeaways and early returns from series of Junior Days

Quality of Recruits

There’s a stark difference between the quality of the recruit FSU had coming to its Junior Days last year to this year. It reflects in the caliber of the nine commits (No. 3 class nationally with a 90.61 per player average) in the class also.

The rankings for the 2024 recruiting cycle are still fluid and will likely change drastically over the next few months.

However, FSU got a ton of top players to visit over the past three weeks. Here’s a small sample size with their composite ranking: Landen Thomas (No. 23 player), Omar White (No. 108 player), Dylan Stephenson (No. 92 player), Edwin Spillman (No. 98 player), Charles Lester (No. 22 player), Kylan Fox (No. 194 player), Kameron Davis (No. 26 player), Jordan Pride (No. 64 player), and several top guys from 2025 visited campus as well.

Some of these guys are currently committed to other schools, and a few are FSU commits. However, with the year FSU expects to have on the field in 2023, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for FSU to be highly selective in this recruiting cycle.

I expect them to be selective with high school players and continue to fill needs with top players from the transfer portal in the 2024 class.
