2023 Transfer Class Compared To 2021

The 2021 transfer class ranked No. 3 with 12 players (I think two were walk-ons), with Jermaine Johnson, Keir Thomas, Jammie Robinson, and Dillan Gibbons earning All-ACC honors.

However, outside of those four players the rest of the class didn’t contribute much. McKenzie Milton was a shell of his former self but likely helped FSU get players like Jermaine Johnson and Keir Thomas once he committed.

Marcus Cushnie was an 11th-hour addition that didn’t pan out before transferring to UMASS. Brandon Moore battled injuries and never played before going back into the portal. D.J. Williams played sparingly and Jarques McClellion developed into a solid safety reserve.

Andrew Parchment was among the team leaders in receptions in his lone season but was largely a disappointment. I still contend his inability to get to Tallahassee until that summer contributed to his ineffectiveness in the offense.

The average per-player ranking for the 2021 class was 85.84. It’s slightly better than 2020, but the players that made All-ACC far exceeded their rankings.

I mentioned transfer player rankings have improved, and that has been reflected in the 2023 rankings (91.44).
