Tatum Bethune

FSU football hadn’t had strong linebacker play since at least the 2016 season when Matthew Thomas led the team in tackles with 77.

The emergence of Kalen DeLoach in 2021 gave fans hope they’d have one-half of the puzzle in 2022, and the addition of Tatum Bethune before spring camp began signaled the other half.

Bethune instantly upgraded the linebacker room. A heady player, who played with a bum shoulder for much of the year finished second on the team with 84 tackles.

He had 9.5 tackles for a loss, the most since the 2019 season for a linebacker. Bethune defended three passes, three sacks, and one QB hurry.

His play helped him earn All-ACC Honorable Mention honors, and he’ll return alongside DeLoach for the 2023 season to feature one of the better linebacking duos in the ACC.
