FSU football: Ranking top five games from 2022 season
By Kelvin Hunt
What a 2022 season for FSU football. FSU won 10 games in a season where most predicted they would finish between 6-7 wins.
I predicted they would win eight during the regular season and nine with a bowl win, so I was one game off the pace.
Here’s what I wrote last December once the regular season concluded:
"Aside from the Jacksonville State debacle, I think Mike Norvell is right on track and possibly ahead of schedule if he can receive some good injury luck with Jordan Travis and the offensive line. The Noles had a chance to win nearly every game with Jordan Travis at quarterback. He still has a long way to go but made some strides as a passer. I think he has some self-confidence that became apparent later in the season, and I believe his teammates believe in him more now than they did at this time last year. FSU football has to hope the transfer portal players they bring in hit once again, while also hoping some young players at some key positions take the next step. Oh, and injury luck, they still need lots of injury luck. However, I think the roster is in better shape overall now compared to this time last year. It’s about building on the progress made in 2021 while continuing to change the culture around the program."
I was right that they were ahead of schedule, mainly because they were competitive in every game, and I expected Jordan Travis to take another leap in development(admittedly not as big as he did).
I predicted the defense to be better(and they were), and I didn’t think the 2022 schedule was as difficult as most.
I knew the Louisville and LSU stretch would be pivotal, along with the Wake Forest, NC State, and Clemson games.
FSU played in a lot of fun games, meaning blow outs that we have not experienced in years. However, the following are my top five games from the 2022 season.
