Johnny Wilson Could Have A 2013 Kelvin Benjamin Year in 2023

Johnny Wilson capped off the 2022 season in impressive fashion with eight receptions for 202 receiving yards.

Those totals put him at 42 receptions, 897 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. Those numbers are better than Kelvin Benjamin’s numbers from 2012, and we know what type of leap Benjamin made in 2013 with Jameis Winston.

I’m not saying Jordan Travis will be like Jameis Winston, but the FSU football offense will have the potential to be the top offense in the nation.

They could average close to 40 points per year, and Johnny Wilson should be a large focal point. FSU only threw the ball 43 percent of the time in the regular season, and that might see an uptick with Jordan Travis’s progression as a passer.

One other issue that plagued Johnny Wilson this season was the drops. He made some incredibly difficult and important receptions this season but dropped quite a few catchable passes that would have gone for big yards.

If you add those to the totals he had this year, he likely has over 50 receptions and 1,000 yards. I’m not sure if Wilson will reach 15 touchdowns as Benjamin did, but he can definitely have 54 receptions for 1,011 receiving yards.
