Parting Thoughts

FSU football looks poised to improve on last year’s performance as the nation’s most explosive offense. They have almost every position stocked with talent and experience.

More additions are a luxury, but it’s the defense that needs attention to keep pace. FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller overachieved last season, with two of his best players missing multiple games. It’s not like that side of the ball had multiple NFL guys getting snaps.

That won’t be the case if Lovett and Verse leave after the Cheez-It Bowl, so it’s imperative FSU adds talent and experience on defense, regardless.

They’ve done a good job attracting the No. 4 and No. 14 ranked players in the portal for official visits in Fiske and Cypress.

Can they land them and possibly add 1-2 more players for more depth? It’ll depend on who else enters the portal, and that’s the risk of depending on the portal to upgrade a football roster.

However, with the better teams starting to play in their bowl games, I’m sure more talent will become available soon enough.
