Kenton Kirkland

This young man is a player I like a lot, and will enroll this spring to get a head start on getting on the field.

Jammie Robinson returning or not will be a factor here, but Kirkland is someone the staff will likely place in the safety position. Kirkland possesses elite length (77-inch wingspan) and good long speed (state champion anchor leg in 4×400 meters) to cover the open field in the secondary.

He’s already around 190 pounds and should add some weight and size after getting into the FSU strength and conditioning program over the next eight months.

His physicality will improve once that happens, but he already has the mentality to come downhill and lay the wood in the run game.

Kirkland could be a weapon on specials teams as well. I look for him to start flashing at some point during spring camp and the summer.
