Travis Hunter Jr. only appeared in eight games for Jackson State, playing cornerback and wide receiver just as he planned to had he enrolled at FSU.

Injuries were the reason he missed five games, but he tallied 18 receptions for 188 yards and four touchdowns, including the touchdown that sent the Celebration Bowl into overtime last Saturday before they eventually fell to NC Central.

He had 20 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions on defense. I thought Hunter Jr. was a better wide receiver than cornerback out of high school, and at the time, FSU needed help at wide receiver in the worst way.

However, they went on to sign four wide receivers from the transfer portal after he flipped to JSU and upgraded their passing game to one of the best in the ACC.

FSU has five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams committed and expected to sign Wednesday while enrolling this spring.

They have a couple of other talented wide receivers who plan to sign too. FSU has more of a need at defensive back than wide receiver now, but is Travis Hunter Jr. good enough to pursue either way?
