  • Yards per rush: 5.50 up from 4.78 in 2021 (+15 percent)
  • Passing Yards: 3,094 up from 2,419 in 2021 (+28 percent)
  • Third down conversions: 51.92 percent up from 34.87 percent (+48.8 percent)

  • Fourth down conversions: 40 percent up from 33 percent in 2021
  • Turnovers lost: 13 turnovers compared to 21 in 2021 (38 percent decrease)

The advanced metrics paint a picture of incredible improvement, but looking at these numbers gives a better perspective in some key areas.

The offense became more efficient, scoring more points, more explosive, and allowed fewer negative plays. However, one of the most important factors was decreasing the amount of turnovers.

Teams that turn the ball over a ton rarely win at a high level, but it’s an area they need to continue to improve upon. FSU only had two games without featuring a turnover in 2022.
