Haven’t Played Much Competition

FSU will be the second Power 5 team Louisiana-Lafayette has played in the past two seasons. Texas rolled them in their season opener last year before the Rajin’ Cajuns ran the table with the rest of their schedule.

They played the No. 101 toughest schedule last season and the No. 128 toughest schedule this season. So let’s get this straight.

They played an easier schedule but have four more losses than they did at this time last year. That speaks to their drop in the advanced metrics mentioned earlier too. FSU football will be by far the toughest opponent they’ve faced this season.

The Noles check in at No. 12 overall, and the toughest opponent they’ve faced is Troy, who checks in at No. 64. Troy defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 23-17 the week before last. Their raw numbers look good regarding run defense, sacks, etc.

However, it’s basically like the Miami game all over again. They haven’t played anyone worth their salt for their raw and average numbers to mean anything.

It’s a team the Noles should dominate in the trenches and will continue their streak of 200 rushing yards.
