Get Off To A Fast Start (Keys To Victory)

Here’s an excerpt from what I said:

"Miami has struggled to score this year, and an early deficit will apply pressure to that unit. However, I’d like to see FSU put it together in back-to-back possessions to open the game. FSU had chances to do this against Wake Forest and Clemson and wasted great field position on both offensive possessions. A 10-0 or 14-0 lead against Miami would be huge, and we’ve seen FSU put teams away early like Boston College and Georgia Tech. Heck, we’ve seen bad teams like Middle Tennessee State put Miami away early though I’m sure Miami will provide a spirited effort. It would be really easy for them to lie down because the expectation is they aren’t supposed to win the game."

FSU football couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start. They scored on an explosive passing play to take a 7-0, with the defense holding Miami to a 49-yard field goal before the offense scored another touchdown on their second possession to take a 14-3 lead.

The Miami crowd was out of the game by then and the Noles scored two more touchdowns and a field goal to end the first half. It was great complimentary football between the offense and defense.
