Make Miami’s Offense Execute

Miami’s offense hasn’t scored more than 24 points against a Power 5 team this year. They only convert third downs 36 percent of the time against Power 5 teams.

They haven’t scored a rushing touchdown against a Power 5 team all season, and they only score touchdowns 35 percent of the time when they enter the red zone.

FSU’s defense has only allowed 21 touchdowns all season, and teams convert first downs 37 percent of the time against Power 5 teams.

It sounds fairly simple for Adam Fuller. FSU has to stop the run and avoid getting beat over the top with explosive plays, and that’s something they’ve excelled at all season, even with key players out with injuries.

Miami will likely play multiple quarterbacks, and all of them have different games and will be playing behind a patchwork offensive line. Miami has allowed 21 sacks (No. 92 nationally) and 45 tackles for a loss(No. 71 nationally).

If we combine those aspects with their inability to convert on third downs at a high percentage, that makes it unlikely they will score a lot of points since they won’t be able to put together 7-8+ play drives.
