Get Off To A Fast Start

One thing FSU has done well this year is they have scored a touchdown on their opening offensive possession in several games.

They did it against Louisville, Wake Forest, Clemson, and others. They need to do this against Miami, or if they defer and Miami gets the ball first, get a defensive stop and then score a touchdown.

Miami has struggled to score this year, and an early deficit will apply pressure to that unit. However, I’d like to see FSU put it together in back-to-back possessions to open the game.

FSU had chances to do this against Wake Forest and Clemson and wasted great field position on both offensive possessions.

A 10-0 or 14-0 lead against Miami would be huge, and we’ve seen FSU put teams away early like Boston College and Georgia Tech.

Heck, we’ve seen bad teams like Middle Tennessee State put Miami away early though I’m sure Miami will provide a spirited effort. It would be really easy for them to lie down because the expectation is they aren’t supposed to win the game.

Not to mention it would take what few fans will be in attendance out of the game.
