Stats Padded Big Time Against Inferior Competition

I’ve already established the Canes haven’t played or beaten anyone of note this season. I know some of their fans will attempt to point out how many points they average per game or how many points their defense allows per game. The thing is all of their numbers are frauds. Check it:

Miami’s average stats against Power 5 teams(mind you all of these teams sucked):

  • 17 ppg
  • Miami hasn’t scored a rushing touchdown against a Power 5 team
  • 32 percent of their tackles for a loss (18) came against non-Power 5 teams
  • 36 percent conversion rate on third downs
  • 37 percent conversion rate allowed on third downs
  • 47.6 touchdown allowed percentage in the red zone
  • 35 percent touchdown percentage in the red zone(offense)

However, things look a tad better when you factor in the three non-Power 5 programs:

  • 27 ppg
  • 11 rushing touchdowns
  • 56 tackles for a loss(Tied No. 19 nationally)
  • 41.88 third down conversions
  • 35.71 third down conversions allowed
  • 41.38 touchdown allowed percentage in the red zone
  • 55.56 touchdown percentage in the red zone(offense)

Once you net out all of the non-Power 5 teams, it’s easy to see why Miami has gone life and death for the two Power 5 wins they have this year.
