Props To Ryan Fitzgerald

I think it’s safe to say most FSU football fans thought Ryan Fitzgerald would never make another field goal in an FSU jersey earlier this year.

However, he’s quietly found some success in the last few games. It all started with the long field goal before halftime in the NC State game.

He made both extra points in that game and all four extra points in the Clemson game. I know it sounds crazy about a kicker making extra points, but that’s where he was as a kicker.

However, Fitzgerald made two field goals against Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon, and all of are extra points.

None of his kicks looked shaky, and he had good distance, making them pretty much down the middle.

That changes things quite a bit for Mike Norvell and the FSU offense. It looks like Norvell won’t settle for long-field goals anymore, but if they need to kick a field goal from 30-40 yards, it looks like Fitzgerald could be dependable again. That’s huge.
