Tackles For A Loss

Georgia Tech has a top 50 defense according to FEI advanced metrics. FSU fans will want the Noles to pound the rock with their running game after their performance against a stout Clemson defense.

Georgia Tech allows 4.14 yards per rush and 177.43 rushing yards per game. However, that’s with teams attempting nearly 43 rushes per game.

Ole Miss ran the ball 62 times against only 19 pass attempts and averaged 5.1 yards per rush. The Yellow Jackets had 12 tackles for a loss in that game.

That’s 19 percent of their rushing attempts that went for a loss. Georgia Tech tied for No. 22 nationally with 51 tackles for a loss.

For what it’s worth, three teams tie at No. 10 with 55 tackles for a loss. FSU football checks in at No. 64 with 42 tackles, and Clemson as 66 tackles for a loss for comparison.

While FSU should have success running the ball, it may not come as easy as some expect Saturday afternoon.
